Penelope McAlmond-Ross, Psy. D.
My adulthood, following college, was in a small rural town in Louisiana. It was there that I learned a tremendous amount about people’s needs, both emotional and physical. Through trial and error and education, I learned how to apply many of those observations and theories and utilize the simple wisdoms I had gathered along the way. My journey to private practice began during my internship at a Community Mental Health in Clackamas County, OR, and following that experience, I evaluated mental health issues for Disability, and then I accepted a position at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in North Louisiana. From there I traveled to Western Nebraska and worked at another community mental health and I finally decided to return to my birth state, California. I accepted a position working for CDC-R which ended after a few years because I began yearning to begin my own practice. This journey has taken me a number of years and I am anticipating sharing what I have learned with you.
